LaPorte First Church of God has established a Permanent Fitting Station, offering free car seat checks for families and their children.　

Appointments are taken by calling the church office at 362-7433, ext. 11.　

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician/Instructor Sue McLain will contact you to make a private appointment for you and your children. At the appointment, the car seat will be removed from the vehicle and checked to make sure it is in good condition and there are no recalls on the seat.　 Sue will then assist each parent in the correct installation of the seat into the vehicle, and assist with correctly restraining your child in the car seat.　 Free replacement seats are available for situations where the current car seat is not appropriate for the child.

The Permanent Fitting Station is funded by the Automotive Safety Program/IU School of Medicine, through the Governor’s Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving, in addition to 　generous donations from local organizations, businesses, and local families.
